Exploring Vancouver’s Queer History

Vancouver Drag Artists, 1986

As a childhood artist my interest was in drawing people. My first camera at ten years old started a lifelong interest in photography, particularly of human personalities. At age sixteen I heard about Christine Jorgensen and my fascination with the many ways people identify with and express gender has been of primary interest ever since. These photos are a random sampling of images made on film in 1986 that I recently began digitizing.
